So up until this one I'll admit I was kinda nodding this dude off, I honestly couldn't understand why he's been getting as much shine as he was. Than I heard, saw this. I was mistaken before. This guy has talent. Definitely an emcee you gotta be watching for I'd say. Just proves sometimes you got to hear a variety before you can make a judgement.
The first time I heard about Sapient I was rummaging through the latest releases on Cd Baby, a popular online mega store for all musicians independent. It was there I came across his "Dry Puddles" release & been hooked ever since. Thinking back, it feels like that was almost five years ago that I made this discovery. Which made me come to this conclusion. How many artists have I listened to for years that don't have at least some fame or shine? The answer....well probably more than most but I feel like as far as being slept on goes. Sapient is one of the most slept on independent emcee's out there. So I've decided. I'm going to let you all see just what Sapienthas to offer. Welcome to this weeks Five Shots.
