The Mixtape Shout-Out! Week #2!

FREE MIXTAPE SHOUT-OUT - WEEK #2.

Another week, another three. Welcome to Mixtape Shout-Out! Where we co-sign three mixtapes we've been bumping, & provide you the download link so you can understand why! This is great stuff, we promise! Check out this week's shout-out's below!

Chanes - An Experment In InstrumentationDJ House Shoes Presents: Chanes - An Experiment In Instrumentation

This one right here had me inspired the moment I hit play! The thing is I had never heard of Chanes until two days ago. I discovered him through a tweet from one of the people we follow on the Sparkhop Records twitter. I happened to click the link over to Chanes Bandcamp & was instantly drawn in by the cover! I'm telling your right now, a good cover means the world! I don't know if I would've even listened hadn't I seen the artwork. Simple but great! I'm very thankful that was the case in this instance because what I stumbled onto was a producer with a style that sounds extremely polished as his own. I imagine this one is not for everybody, but it spoke to me. I felt inspiration to write almost instantly, and it was consistent from start to finish. Listen to this with an open mind & hear an evolution of hip-hop in a good way. Remarkable listen in my opinion & my favorite pick this week!

K-BETA - Inglorious Beta

K-BETA - Inglorious Beta

This is the first album from Washington D.C. emcee K-BETA and to no complaints he has released it as a free download. This one I found via DJBooth.net whom K-BETA has teamed up with to release his debut to the public. The album features solid production, great guest performances, & an overall outstanding first effort. Sharp lyricism, intelligent, & poetic in a lot of instances. This one was the best find for me this week that wasn't solely instrumental as Album features include: Diamond District, Illa Ghee, Sketch, & more. Also includes production from another favorite producer of mine lately Kev Brown.

RENCEN COOLBEANZ - Lunch Money, Eat Or Die StarvinRENCEN COOLBEANZ - Lunch Money, Eat Or Die Starvin

Honestly I can't really tell you too much about this project other than I listened to it and it's dope & that RENCEN is one of the sickest producers out of Detroit. I first heard him during a beat battle where our very own SKYWLKR was competing & it was pure fire. Later on I found out he's also an emcee & was recommended this mixtape. After a few listens I must say it's a great example of why I love Detroit hip-hop. Not to mention dude seems like he'd be cool as hell to kick it with - I'll leave you guys with this quote from his facebook page which I thought was very interesting! "I'm real even when I'm wrong. Honest, out going, blunt, fun as hell, and love people. Nerdy/ Street/ Grown ass man. so I can fix your PC, whoop yo ass and take care of home & business. flatout." So check him out, not only does he got a great perspective, he makes incredible music!
